I feel so lucky to have been told by a friend to do this tour with Anas! This tour is how I wish every tour I went on was structured, Anas provides context about the city that would be impossible to try to find elsewhere. He shares the history of the city to better understand how it is in the present day and deciphers through the streets how the culture of the city is communicating and feeling. I can’t explain how useful and fun this was! Me and my friend really enjoyed spending time with Anas himself. He was such good company, friendly and welcoming which made the tour 1000x better! My name is Anas Amarneh. I am the founder of Through Local Eyes, a start-up aiming to promote non-touristic destinations with unique stories to help local communities benefit from tourism in Jordan, and have their voices heard, while connecting touristic landmarks. I am a Tourism Management university student. I have lived and worked in various rural areas in Jordan, where I contributed in developing alternative programs and activities. My goal is to develop a new alternative Jordanian tourism map, which aims to be fair, sustainable and inclusive. I have great interest in politics, heritage, and identity, and have strong faith in the significance of cultural exchange. The programs I offer focus on fair, ethical, and sustainable experiences.
