This tour is for active people who want to explore Wadi Rum on their own two feet. In three days and two nights we will hike up to several of the Protected Area's best spots and take in the breathtaking views. During the evenings we will enjoy traditional Bedouin food before camping out under the millions of stars in the clear night sky.
What you’re going to do
Day 1: Arrival and Hiking
Arriving at the Wadi Rum Visitor Centre, the gateway to the Wadi Rum Protected Area, you will first need to pay the entrance fees or enter with the Jordan Pass. 6km away from the Wadi Rum Village, you should arrive at Wadi Rum Rest House at 10:00 AM. With a cup of delicious Bedouin coffee, we will welcome you inside to chat with you about our plans for the upcoming days.
We will begin our hike from the Wadi Rum Village by going through the Makharas Canyon to the valley of Um Ishrin. This trail takes about 3 hours - we will have lunch along the way. In the afternoon, we continue to the spectacular sand dune area, where we will have supper and camp out under the stars.
Day 2: Hiking and Bedouin Traditions
After breakfast, we will start a lengthy hike with a bit of scrambling as well. You will walk through some fantastic landscapes before we stop for lunch after about 3 hours. Following a relaxing lunch, we will hike onward for about 2 hours to where we will set up camp and spend the night. We will enjoy an evening filled with Bedouin traditions before another night beneath the starry sky.
Day 3: Breakfast and Burdah Bridge
After breakfast, we will scramble with our hands and feet to the top of Burdah Bridge, the largest and most impressive natural rock arch in Wadi Rum. At the top there are some fantastic views and it is also a great photo opportunity. After we descend, we will unwind with a delicious lunch and then set off on our final hike back to the Rum Village.
