What you’re going to do

This tour focuses on art galleries, street art, a visit to a pottery shop and a stop by an artisan jam shop for tasting the best jams and honey, architectural beauty, mosques and churches, cafes, artists' ateliers and an explanation of its mix of people (anthropological element). During the tour you'll be taken to the National Gallery Of Fine Arts where you can take an inside tour and view local art pieces and canvases After that, you'll be able to enjoy the breeze in the garden. You will also have a chance to view and visit a local coffee shop with spectacular views of Amman. Following that, the tour guide will be taking you to a concept shop where you can view and shop traditional souvenirs and pieces. Our second activity is heading to Bait Yaeesh where it is a cultural hub, and a house that was built in the 1950s that posseses beautiful archeticture. We will also be heading to Dar Al Fonoun where it is a gigantic art house and archeological site. Finally, we will be ending the tour by visiting Rana's Gallery which is the tour guide's gallery, where it contains pieces of her personal art and other local artists as well. You cannot miss this gallery's incredible views which overlook the castle and Amman's Citadel.

Rana

Rana A. Safadi is an award winning cultural consultant and trainer.  She was born and raised in Amman and specializes in cultural and art experiences including tours in Jordan. She is intimately acquainted with Jordan’s rich history and diverse culture as well as the contemporary geography and dynamics. 
Her TEDX talk “The Story of Amman” showcases her passion towards her city.  She also participates in moderating and conducting workshops and lectures on cultural heritage with other organizations such as Tiraz, Petra National Trust, and the Friends of Archeology and Heritage in Jordan.
She studied literature, arts and tourism in Jordan, Austria and France. 
She brings together the practical street smarts of the Jordanian cities and villages with the sensibilities of the artist who has ‘seen’ and ‘documented’ her country through the media of photography, oil painting and mixed media. 
Rana’s experience includes working as Cultural and Development Specialist with the American Embassy in Amman for over 14 years and as Country Director for the Jordan Parks Project/Partnership for Environmental and Cultural Tourism.
For the past 4 years, she has been the managing partner of the “House of Culture” Company that specializes in cultural heritage, culture and tourism consultancy.
Rana has published a book entitled “Letters of Gold:  State of the Spirit” where she has presented a map of the heart, her inspirations as well as her artistic vision.  Her oeuvres are emblems of emotional states – or spiritual states.  She also included the oldest surviving Arabic poetry, the “Golden” or “Hanging” poems, so admired in the pre-Islamic era.
