Depart from Barcelona on an air-conditioned bus with a professional tour guide and enjoy a great time at Girona, the medieval monumental city that contains El Call, one of the best preserved Jewish quarters.
You will be also able to experience the Girona’s 2000 years of history and visit its fortified walls, the small streets of the old city center, and the giant Forca Vella Fortress.
Furthermore, you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the city center, passing by the Cathedral, with its well-preserved medieval streets that lead you towards the famous pastel-colored houses at the edge of Onyar river bank before You get some free time to enjoy the city by yourself.
After a quick break for lunch, you will head toward 1,236-meter-long mountain of Montserrat, where you can see the wonderful views of the multi-peaked rocky range.
Once you arrive, you will take the air-conditioned and wheelchair-friendly cogwheel train through the rack railway and enjoy a 15-minute trip among the spectacular panoramic views of the mountain until you reach the middle of the Montserrat monastery.
You will be able then to visit the Royal Basilica and abbey of Montserrat, which holds the famous 12th-century Romanesque carving of Verge Moreneta (the Black Madonna) and the Benedict sanctuary of Montserrat which provides a mystical backdrop of the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia.
Furthermore, you will be able to enter the audiovisual exhibition about the history and creation of Montserrat, taste some authentic typical liquors made by the monks of the monastery, and see the Escolanía of Montserrat, one of the oldest boys’ choirs in Europe.
