Spanish creative architect Antoni Gaudi’s architecture is undoubtedly incomparable, and Park Guell is one of his stunning wonders that combine nature and architecture in a way no other landmark does.
You will surely not want to miss this beautiful place that was meant first to be an elegant residential area for count Guell but has recently turned into a public park and become part of the city’s heritage that has been declared a world heritage site by the UNESCO.
Your tour guide will take you to Park Güell to enter with your skip-the-line ticket through the big staircase decorated with a mosaic of ceramic tiles and the Catalan style “trencadís” that shows the iconic dragon that is considered one of the most characteristic images of Barcelona.
The park is constructed below a central square as the roof is supported by 86 Doric columns shaped like trees with paths between them. The park further contains a small house Gaudi used to live in during a period of his life, but recently turned into a museum including some of the architect’s amazingly designed furniture and artworks.
