Taj Mahal Tour with Assam & Meghalaya

Day 01 - Arrive in Delhi by flight (Kindly advise) 
Arrive at Delhi International Airport. After clearing your customs & immigrations, you shall be met by our representative outside the exit gate of the arrival hall. After meeting/assistance at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day/night at leisure to overcome jet leg of the long flight & to adapt to our weather conditions. Overnight stay at hotel. 

Day 02 – Delhi Sightseeing: 
In the morning and after breakfast, you will start your tour. Our representative will guide you through exploring Delhi city. Delhi can be seen into two parts, one is Old Delhi& another is New Delhi. In old Delhi, you can visit Red Fort (majestic red stone architecture), Jama Masjid, Chandi Chowk and famous old market of Delhi. On the otherside of Delhi called New Delhi, you can visit India Gate, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, Akshardham Temple, and National Art Gallery. In the evening, explore the famous markets of Delhi, enjoy dinner, and overnight at the hotel. 

Day 03, Delhi – Agra (230 kms): 
Today in the morning, enjoy the breakfast and after that you will be driven to Agra. Agra city is also famous with the name "City of Marbles. On your arrival at Agra, check-in at the hotel and then leave to explore Matehtab Bagh. After that enjoy lunch and also visit Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb (known as baby Taj). Later, enjoy shopping and then dinner at Mughali restaurant. After dinner, overnight at the hotel. 
 
Day 04, Agra – Delhi – Guwahati (By Flight): 
On the fourth day of your tour, you will visit the world-famous Taj Mahal. After breakfast, visit Taj Mahal, the great monument of love that was built by King Shah Jahan for his much-loved wife Mumtaj Mahal. After that you will explore marble factories and many more. In afternoon, you will be transferred to Delhi Airport to catch a flight for Guwahati. Upon arrival at the airport, our representative will meet you and you will go to check-in at your pre-booked hotel. 

Day 05, Guwahati – Shillong (99 km): 
Today we will visit Kamakhya temple, Navagraha temple and then drive to Shillong ( 03 hrs drive), enroute we will stop at the scenic viewpoint of the Umiam lake ( the largest manmade lake in Northeast India), reach Shillong and check into hotel, after refreshing, explore the local night markets of Shillong. Overnight in hotel. 
Shillong is the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as "The Abode of Clouds", one of the smallest states in India. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet. Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India with population of 143,007 according to the 2011 census. It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland. Hence, they would also refer to it as the "Scotland of the East" 
 
Day 06, Shillong - Cherrapunjee (55 km) 
Today we will drive to Mawphlang Scared forest ( 35 kms / 02 hrs drive), then we will start a trek of known as David Scot Trail for 06 hrs, reach Mawladh and then you will be picked up and taken to Cherrapunjee, evening at leisure and overnight stay. 

Day 07, Cherrapunjee Sightseeing: 
After breakfast, set off on a trek to Nongriat village, A War-Khasi village situated at the bottom of a deep valley. Enroute meet local Khasi villagers in Mawshamok, Tyrna, Umsohphie and Nongthymmai.  See the longest Living Root Bridge, Double Decker Root Bridge and go for a swim in Natural Swimming Pools. It is a trek of about 4 to 5 hours. Evening get together and cultural interaction with the villagers of Nongriat. 
 
Day 08, Cherrapunjee - Mawllynnng - Shillong: 
Today after breakfast we drive to Mawllynnong (110 kms / 02 ½ hrs drive), explore the village and also trek for 10 min to visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village, back to Shillong and overnight at hotel. 
Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. 
The adage "Neighbours envy, owners pride' is apt for Mawlynnong as it has earned the distinction of being one of the cleanest villages in Asia, a fact that every Mawlynnong villager is proud of and other villagers are envy of. 
The village is quite pretty, especially in the monsoons when there is lush greenery all around, with waterfalls paving the way to small streams and abundance of flowering orchids dangling from the trees and hedges add to the beauty of the village. 
 
Day 09: Shillong – Guwahati – Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary: 
After breakfast, we will drive to Pobitora WLS ( 04 hrs drive), check into accommodation and later explore an exciting village. Evening Bihu dance will be performed, enjoy and stay overnight.   

Day 10: Pobitora – Kaziranga National Park: 
Today in the early morning we will go for a boat ride in The Brahmaputra river for Endangered River Dolphin (for 02 hrs) and also walk to an ancient temple on the other side of the river, return back to lodge and the proceed to Kaziranga National Park (200 kms / 04 ½ hrs drive), on reaching check into hotel, evening at leisure and overnight stay.  

Day 11: Kaziranga National Park: 
Today you will go for safaris and an elephant ride inside the national park. Early morning go for an Elephant ride ( timing 5:00 AM/ 06:00 AM/ 7:00 AM) then return back to the lodge and after breakfast go for a Jeep Safari (timing  8:00 AM / 9:00 AM) for 03 hrs, after the safari come back to lodge. After lunch and refreshment go for another Jeep Safari in the Western/ Central range of the park (timing 2:00AM / 3:00 AM) for 02 ½ hrs ( also depending on the sunset as in winters the sun sets early in Northeast India), evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Kaziranga. 

Day 12: Kaziranga National Park:  
Today after an early breakfast we drive to the Eastern Range of the park for a jeep safari ( 21 kms approx) for 3 hrs inside the forest, return back to lodge and after lunch and refreshment go for the last round of jeep safari in Kaziranga in the Central Range of the park. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay will be in Kaziranga.  
 
Day 13: Kaziranga – Guwahati (195 km) (By Flight): 
After breakfast we drive to Guwahati airport for onward destination. TOUR ENDS
