What you’re going to do

This 4-day Private Sahara Desert Tour Fes to Marrakech adventure was created for the kind of visitor who isn't put off by the notion of spending a large amount of time traveling in a vehicle but is interested in exploring the interior of the Sahara Desert in Morocco regardless of the fact that they will have to do so.

The first leg of our journey through the Sahara will consist of a drive across the sand dunes, and it will last for about an hour. During our time there, we plan to make stops at a number of the area's settlements, including Khamlia, which is one of them.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Fes - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga
Fes
After breakfast, we will travel through Midelt and Errachidia en route to Merzouga, passing through the southernmost regions of Morocco.

Ifrane
Ifrane, often known as "the Switzerland of Morocco," will serve as the starting point for your journey. Following your departure from this site, you will travel to Merzouga through Midelt and the Ziz Valley. You will have the opportunity to see both the Middle Atlas and the Higher Atlas from a distance throughout the course of your tour. You will make a diversion to the largest and most famous cedar forest in Morocco, where you will get the opportunity to observe Barbary apes in their natural habitat.

Merzouga
We will drive through Berber villages to reach Erfoud, then continue on to Rissani, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty and the current royal seat of Morocco. When you arrive in Merzouga at the end of the day, you will be greeted with mint tea and led to your accommodations at our riad (dinner and breakfast).

Day 2: Merzouga Camel Trek
Merzouga
After breakfast at your riad, we will leave Fes and drive to Merzouga to view the desert there. The following stop will be Erg Chigaga.

Khamlia
You will make your way to the Gnawa village, whose inhabitants are from Sudan, Senegal, and Mali, in that order. You will learn not just about the music they perform, but also about their way of life throughout your stay there. We will next board a vehicle and go into the desert to see the dwellings of numerous nomads in order to have a better understanding of their way of life.

Merzouga Desert
We will have lunch with a local family and have a dish known as "Berber pizza". You will also get the chance to visit the historic city of Rissani, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty and the present governing royal family of Morocco. Rissani is surrounded by more than 360 ksars, which are fortified towns with several towers. It also has a large souk, or open market, which occurs three times every week. This location was historically known as Sijilmassa and functioned as a meeting point for Mali's Tombouctou region's salt caravans. You will tour the souk, where items like clothing, vegetables, and spices are sold. After that, we will reboard our cars and return to the town of Merzouga. In the afternoon, you will ride a camel over the tallest sand dunes in Morocco, accompanied by a camel expert. Your guide will assist you in discovering the mysteries hidden inside the dunes. In front of the tent in which you will be spending the night, supper will be served.

Day 3: Merzouga - Todgha Gorges - Dades
Merzouga
Our camel guide will wake you up early in the morning so you can witness the daybreak, which may be the most stunning sunrise you've ever witnessed. Following this, you will return to the village of Merzouga on a leisurely camel walk. The awe-inspiring Erg Chebbi dunes are an essential must-see throughout the road; their appearance changes throughout the day as a result of the light.

Gargantas del Todra
After showering and eating breakfast at the riad, you will go to the three deepest and narrowest gorges in Morocco: Rissani, Tinghir, and Todgha. Here, you will have the option of taking a one-hour stroll around the valley, during which you will have the chance to converse with locals and learn about the geology and history of the region.

Dades Gorges
After departing from Fes, the excursion will go to the Dades Valley, where you will view sand castles and "monkey foot" rock formations. Our lodgings will be at a luxurious inn, which will also serve dinner and breakfast.

Day 4: Dades - Kasbah Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech
Dades Gorges
Starting this morning, we will travel from Fes to Marrakech through the Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, and eventually Marrakech. The road through Dades Valley is known as the way of a thousand Kasbahs, and it offers several opportunities for tourists to capture some of the most unforgettable photos of their journey.

El Kelaa M'gouna
You will stop in Kalaat M'Gouna, nestled in the heart of Rose valley. Here, you will be able to visit the rose cooperative and purchase rosewater, which you can use to keep your linens smelling fresh for the duration of your vacation.

Ait Ben Haddou
Continue to Marrakech while travelling past the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah on route. The Kasbah, which dates to the nineteenth century and was built by Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains, is currently home to a substantial number of Glaoui individuals. The next stage of your journey will take you through the beautiful Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2260 m) in the High Atlas Mountains. Here, you will get the opportunity to observe Berber women producing argan oil, which is unique to Morocco, in their cooperative.

Marrakech
When we get at the location where you will be staying in Marrakech, our service will conclude.
