FAQs

How hard is the trail?
The Boukaat Loubnan Trails are not always an easy trails. Some sections are easier than others, but if you are traversing the entire trail, you will experience both the easier, and the more difficult parts. Ascent / descent per day can be considerable, and the type of terrain which is most often old shepherds’ routes can be challenging.
Where do we sleep?
The BLT traverse entails a variety of accommodations varying from local guesthouses, to bivouacking, staying in chalets and hotels. Lodging is comfortable but not luxurious. Local dishes are served for dinner and breakfast, and hikers can pack their lunch from the dinner/breakfast leftovers.
How cold/Hot is it?
This varies greatly each year. We are planning one of the camping at an altitude of 2100 m, so expect chilly temperatures at night.
What should we pack?
ONE backpack (for the hike) and ONE personal bag (duffle bag or similar) are enough. The most important equipment you should have for one or several trekking days are: Water flask (2 ltr.), Lunch box (i.e. tupperware and the like), Hat, bonnet, Gloves, Good hiking shoes and extra socks (new hiking shoes should be used several times before the expedition.), Wind/Rain Jacket and trouser (it may rain in May), Trash bag, Insect repellant, Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Walking poles, Sleeping bag, Tent / optional, Floormat, Downjacket, Head light, Personal first aid kit equipped with your medications and a survival blanket, Gaiters (some sections will be probably covered with snow and mud), Hand sanitizers, antiseptic wipes, and/or any type of sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol-based.
