Live a Bedouin Wedding Experience

A traditional wedding experience that highlights Bedouin customs. This is designed to serve new couples who would like to hold their wedding in Wadi Rum, couples celebrating wedding anniversaries or birthdays, or couples who just want to have some fun!

What you’re going to do

  1. The couple will be greeted at a tent located within the premises of the Disi Women Cooperative.
  2. Henna and tattoos are engraved on the bride’s skin in addition to handmade Bedouin eyeliner and makeup.
  3. The bride and groom are dressed in traditional Bedouin clothes and accessories in preparation for the ceremony.
  4. The bride is gently transferred into a “howdaj”, which is a wooden cabin that sits on top of a camel – similar to a car in our time.
  5. The bride has special Zaffeh, which is a wedding march with sound and dances. It is an ancient Arab tradition that predates Islam. The music will be performed by the Samer band for traditional Bedouin songs.
