Exploring Belimbing village at the foot of Mount Batukaru in the west part of Bali.
What you’re going to do
In the early morning we will drive to the foot of Mount Batukaru in the west part of Bali, to begin the trekking adventure. Along the way, we will make a short visit to an interesting local market, there you will experience the authentic local market experience.
We will begin the walk at the starting point which is the hidden Mekori Temple in Belimbing village. This temple is surrounded by forest, and the spiritual atmosphere is felt as soon as you enter the temple complex.
For over five hours you will experience some of the most beautiful scenery on the island. You will walk through rice fields, coffee plantations, and jungle and bamboo forest; pass over hills and valleys and traverse streams and bamboo bridges. All the while keeping a lookout for butterflies, insects, birds and animals. During the walk, the guide will tell you about the local life, farming methods and the “subak” irrigation system that is used to water the fields. Finally, you will arrive at Muncak Sari Temple where you can relax for a while over a picnic lunch. Then finally return to the hotel by vehicle.
Points to note:
This trek is medium strenuous, only for fit people.
Not recommended for children
Trekking duration is approx. 5 hours and on various fix of treks i.e. ricefields, plantation, bush, river and villages.
Distance driving is approx. 2.5 hours to the starting point, recommend only for pick up from Ubud/Kuta/Sanur/Nusa Dua/Jimbaran.
If you are already in Bali you may book up to 72 hours before the day of the experience but if you are not already in Bali, you must book atleast 15 days in advance
