Relish a mouth-watering traditional Omani food experience by dining with a local family at their house in a historic village on top of Jebel Al Akhdar mountain surrounded by beautiful nature with stunning views.

What you’re going to do

1. Nizwa Souq
Visit Nizwa, the former capital of the Sultanate with deep Omani traditions. A visit to its old market is a great way to get familiar with local cuisine and culinary culture by learning about different spices used in the preparation of food, tasting many varieties of Omani halwa, dates and freshly baked bread.
2. Lunch – Shuwa
Drive to Jebel Al Akhdar to meet Omani family and have famous Shuwa for lunch which has been slowly cooking underground for 5 hours already.
3. Nature Walk
Go on a very relaxing nature walk to admire fruit, vegetable and rose gardens on man-made terraces alongside the mountain with a stop for Arabic coffee and dates. 
4. Dinner - Mishkak
Find about Mishkak which is an Omani dish (it is grilled pieces of marinated meat, on long wooden sticks) and be served for dinner in a wonderful natural setting with amazing views. It is time to satisfy your appetite and gourmet soul! Please notify us if you have any food allergies.
