Sunrise Trekking on Batur Volcano

Set your alarm clock and in the very early hours of the morning depart from your hotel to the starting point at the base of Mount Batur. Our friendly guides will be there to welcome you, provide you with the necessary equipment, and take you through a thorough safety briefing. Then turn on your flashlights and set off in the cool, early morning darkness.

The first section takes you uphill through volcanic ash, sand and small rocks. Continue ascending to the top of the crater where the terrain becomes windswept with fewer rocks and vegetation.

Relax at the summit while witnessing the sunrise and the stunning morning views of Mount Abang and Mount Agung. On clear days it is even possible to view Lombok's Mount Rinjani in the distance across the Lombok Strait.

Walk to another crater rim before descending along the same path you climbed in the dark, this time being able to enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and Lake Batur. You can even see some of the lava flows and their path of destruction from the most recent eruptions.  Returning to your hotel.

Suggested  clothing  for  climbing:  good  sports  shoes,  long trousers, coat or something to keep you warm.
