Jeddah is known as the second largest city in Saudi Arabia. The historical area of Jeddah or “Al - Balad” is where you can go to experience an Arabian fairy tale. Al Balad, which literally translates to “the town”, was founded in the 7th century and is the home of many historical structures and landmarks.

What you’re going to do

Its past wasn’t as prosperous as it is now, but with time Jeddah became wealthier and in 2014 Jeddah’s historical area was listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Jeddah’s historical area houses a number of monuments, markets, heritage buildings and art galleries. It also was a connecting trading area across the Indian ocean for about 14 centuries. This experience is an opportunity to learn about and explore the rich history of the historical area of Jeddah.
