Feb 10, 23Imlil Valley at High Atlas Mountains
We spent a wonderful day at Imlil valley with our curator Brahim. The Atlas Mountains are breathtakingly beautiful. Compared to the chaos of cities like Marrakech, Imlil was peaceful and quiet with such fresh air and amazing water from the mountains. Cars and motorbikes were rare (bringing tourists like us to the valley), donkeys and horses were commonly used by the locals. We went hiking halfway up the Atlas Mountains with Brahim for about 4 hours, passing a number of small villages. At the end of the journey we had the most delicious tagine. Given our terrible experience in Marrakech I was cautious about what to expect, but Brahim did not disappoint. Do not purchase your argan oil and other stuff until you take this trip. The driver Abdul-Latif will take you to a women run co-op where the products are fresh and the women are truly lovely. I highly recommend a trip to Imlil valley with Brahim. A trip to Marrakech is not complete without seeing the Atlas Mountains. ...Show More --}}
